TACCOC has been concerned for some time that Motor Sport New Zealand Inc (MSNZ) has lost its direction and does not always act in the interest of all member clubs, as it is obligated to do pursuant to its Constitution. As with many bureaucratic organisations, MSNZ seems to have evolved into "head office" structure, increasingly remote from the needs of its members and with a flawed representative system.
The impact on member clubs and the resultant effect on competitors is an ever increasing cost of participation and a thickening of the Manual as more red tape and regulations are introduced. Some of these impacts are generated by MSNZ's affiliation with the FIA and there is a question as to whether edicts emanating from France are to the benefit or detriment of Kiwi weekend competitors.
The TACCOC Committee has addressed a number of these issues by frequently submitting remits at MSNZ Annual General Meetings and by continually lobbying the Motorsport council on our member’s behalf.
